Responsible to: Trust Building Surveyor & Trust Facilities Officer.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

White Woods Primary Academy Trust was established in 2013 and is now a family of 16 primary schools within the borough of Rotherham.

Our vision is simple: all children, whatever their background, will be supported to thrive both academically and socially, developing the skills of lifelong learners. We believe in keeping the main thing the main thing -- excellent teaching and learning -- within a culture that is curious, collaborative, child-centred and challenging in all the right ways.

Our mission is to make every school an exceptional place to learn and work. We want children and adults to experience a breadth of exciting opportunities that spark curiosity, broaden horizons and build ambition. We believe that the best outcomes come when we combine high challenge with high support, and when joy, wellbeing and professional growth are woven into daily school life.

We are also proud to host a successful DfE English Hub and have a strong track record in developing effective approaches to reading.

We are now looking to appoint an Academy Caretaker who shares our values and can bring expertise, energy and commitment to our Premises Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in school working closely with other Caretakers, Hub Facilities Officers and Headteachers to not only manage the security of our buildings, but to take a proactive role in the maintenance and management of our school sites.

You will be the first point of contact for staff regarding maintenance and you will therefore be very customer focused, polite and helpful. You will supervise a dedicated team of cleaning staff and you will have great interpersonal skills to support our schools in creating an outstanding learning environment for our pupils.

You will also work with the Trust Building Surveyor and Trust Facilities Officer to ensure that our schools comply with all requirements of Health and Safety, risk management, and statutory testing, liaising with contractors and external agencies regarding the completion of both planned and reactive maintenance, and the day to day management of our buildings services, plant and equipment to ensure our school sites are clean, safe and provides pupils and staff with a great place to learn and work.

We can offer you:

Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. Access to the Trust Cycle and Tech Scheme. Access to workplace and wellbeing support services. A genuine sense of belonging in a family of schools rooted in strong values. A comprehensive induction and support programme. A culture where curiosity, collaboration, joy and challenge drive professional growth. A real commitment to work-life balance: your wellbeing matters to us. We want you to thrive, both at work and beyond it.
