Ferdinand Coaches are responsible for delivering high-quality, professional training sessions to players within the Ferdinand Collective Academy, Hubs and Schools. They support the holistic development of players by nurturing their technical, tactical, physical, and personal growth.
The role requires a commitment to the Collective's mission of "Empowering the player, Building the person," and a focus on creating pathways for young talent to progress into professional football, education, or employment opportunities.
Duties
Coaching and Player Development:
Plan and deliver structured, age-appropriate training sessions that align with the Academy and Hub curriculum.
Focus on the technical, tactical, and psychological development of players.
Conduct regular player reviews and create individual development plans (Academy)
Match Day Responsibilities (Academy):
Prepare and manage Academy teams during match days.
Analyze team and player performances to inform future training plans.
Pathways and Progression:
Identify and support talented players in progressing along the Ferdinand Pathway, to professional clubs, further education, or career opportunities.
Foster an environment that promotes learning and personal growth.
Compliance and Safeguarding:
Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations.
Maintain up-to-date first aid, safeguarding, and relevant coaching certifications.
Report any safeguarding concerns promptly in line with organisational procedures.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and other staff members.
Collaborate with other coaches to ensure consistency and alignment within the Academy and Hubs.
Provide regular feedback to the Academy and Development team.
Community Engagement:
Support initiatives that promote the Ferdinand Collective's commitment to inclusivity and community outreach.
Actively encourage participation from underrepresented groups, including girls and players from lower-income communities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
UEFA C License (or equivalent) or higher.
Valid First Aid and Safeguarding Certificates.
Proven experience coaching in grassroots, academy, or professional football.
Experience working with diverse groups of players, including girls and underrepresented communities.
Desirable Qualifications:
Additional qualifications (e.g., UEFA B License, Level 3/4 coaching qualifications).
Experience with performance analysis or sports psychology.
Skills and Attributes:

Hours:
Flexible, including evenings and weekends.
