We are now looking for a highly motivated,

ACCA-qualified Operational Manager

to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee the operational functions of our accounting practice as we continue to expand.

Role Overview

As an

Operational Manager

, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting function. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring that our internal processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

: Manage all daily office operations related to finance and accounting.

Financial Reporting

: Prepare and deliver accurate statutory accounts, management accounts, and other financial statements.

Payroll, VAT, CIS

: Oversee processing of payroll, VAT returns, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) submissions, and company accounts.

Self-Assessment & Tax Returns

: Ensure timely and accurate personal and corporate tax filings.

Client Engagement

: Liaise directly with clients, offering support in tax investigations, financial advice, and mortgage documentation.

MTD Readiness

: Take ownership of Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance and implementation.

Compliance & Risk

: Ensure adherence to UK accounting standards, HMRC regulations, and internal policies.

Strategy & Internal Reporting

: Provide reports and insights to support business decisions and growth strategies.

R&D Claims

: Knowledge of R&D tax credit claims is an advantage but not mandatory.

HMRC Liaison

: Represent clients in communications with HMRC as needed.

Candidate Requirements

ACCA qualified

(or equivalent recognised UK qualification). Minimum

5 years of UK practice experience

in an accountancy firm. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Solid understanding of UK tax laws, statutory accounts, and financial compliance. Proficient in accounting software (e.g.,

Xero, TaxCalc

). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving. Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced office environment.
