The Position
As one of the Access Strategy Leads (ASLs) you play a critical role in ensuring Roche UK and the healthcare system deliver rapid, broad, and sustainable patient access to innovative offerings.


You act as a strategic thought partner and expert, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective access strategies to ensure our commercialization strategies fully reflect market conditions and access considerations. You drive the strategic integration of access by ensuring that PRPC expertise, and access and policy considerations are effectively incorporated into short term outcomes and commercialization strategies at all phases of the lifecycle. You are capable of leading cross functional teams to achieve short- and long-term results on behalf of our disease area teams. You work across a range of cross functional teams including the squad and a cross functional team working on access strategy.


In addition you engage with a diverse range of access stakeholders. This includes the close collaboration with access colleagues in global roles. Externally, you may partner with and seek to influence as relevant NHS organisations, industry associations and policy makers, as needed based on the alignment with internal Commercial, Medical, Patient Partnerships, and External Affairs/Policy groups.


As an Access Strategy Leader you are typically aligned to at least one product or disease area, but are expected to contribute to strategies across the portfolio based on business needs.

Role Overview




As the Primary Point of Contact (PPOC) for the squads you champion the Access/Payers perspective on the Squads as the Primary Point of Contact (PPOC) for the unified Access team ensuring their needs and challenges are prioritised; and these factors are integrated within our near and long term commercial strategies. And you champion the squad into the Cluster.

Strategic thought partner and expert, collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver and implement effective access strategies to ensure our commercial strategies fully reflect market conditions and access considerations Drive strategic integration of access by ensuring that access and policy considerations are effectively incorporated into the development and commercialisation strategies Lead the development and implementation of holistic strategies that are scalable, feasible and balance patient access with sustainable funding and pricing Externally partner as needed with NHS England Champion Access / payer perspectives to ensure optimal access and uptake for Roche medicines Deliver on patient access ambition for individual squads Incorporates policy, corporate affairs input and oversight

Key Responsibilities



Assemble, distil and synthesize access insights into a compelling access strategic brief Work cross functionally to ensure that access elements are seamlessly embedded throughout commercialisation strategies (matrix leadership Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of internal and external market access dynamics, trends and implications influencing business decisions. Incorporate these insights into asset strategies to educate / inform the broader organisation Support growth and development of access community through effective knowledge, information and expertise sharing Approach work collaboratively and with an enterprise mindset Represents PRPC on squads and represents the squad into PRPC and ensures there is appropriate resourcing and expertise Ensure delivery of PRPC elements of squad work to a high standard

Who you are



Strong experience in pharmaceutical access, multidisciplinary background advantageous. With proven ability to identify, create and deliver access strategies and solutions to enable the squad to deliver on their ambitions. Thought Partnership: acting as strategic thought partner Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of drug development, commercialisation, and the current/future external environment; Strategic Skills: Ability to translate complex scientific issues into effective access and business strategies; capable of "zooming out" for big picture and "zooming in" for details. Leadership: Proven track record in matrix organisations; ability to lead diverse teams, make strategic decisions, and drive sustainable change for improved business performance including the delivery of access solutions. Communication: Excellent skills in synthesizing and communicating sophisticated data and solutions to senior management; ability to deliver impactful messages to various partners. Stakeholder Management: Strong relationship-building skills; ability to lead critical conversations and establish collaborative partnerships in multicultural environments. Personal Attributes: Proactive, solutions-oriented attitude; agile leadership skills (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach); demonstrates Roche Core Competencies; innovative thinking beyond immediate future. Market Awareness and Commercial Acumen: This involves understanding the external environment the business operates in and how to ensure we are commercially successful.
