The Impact You'll Make
You will be the Team Leader for the
Accommodation Based Support Service (ABS)
, leading the provision of essential housing-related support across
8 individual properties in the Southampton community
.
You will be responsible for leading the service by utilising your management competencies to ensure the
Accommodation Based Support (ABS)
operates effectively, providing essential housing-related support across
8 individual properties
from
Monday to Friday during office hours
.
Your core impact lies in empowering staff by applying specialised skills to help them manage the
complex, often traumatic needs of individuals experiencing homelessness
. Furthermore, you will be crucial in directing support, guiding the team to focus on promoting key areas such as
harm minimisation, basic life skills, and emotional support
, ultimately ensuring high-quality care and positive, person-centred outcomes for clients within the service's properties.

The ideal candidate is a
thoughtful and balanced leader
with an
innovative, person-centred approach
to all aspects of client work.
You should have good experience in:
Managing staff and support services.
Line managing staff, including staff supervision and identifying training needs.
Inducting new staff members.
Essential Qualities and Skills
Management Competencies:
Proven experience and competence in a management role.
Support Service Experience:
Experience working within support services, particularly understanding the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
Operational Knowledge:
Understanding of case management systems, health & safety requirements, and risk management.
Risk and Safeguarding:
Experience in dynamic service risk assessment and safeguarding people at risk.
Communication:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Mobility:
The candidate
must be a driver
in order to travel to different locations.
