The Role
As an Account Director, you will lead key client relationships, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and oversee delivery across strategic and tactical communications. You will shape client strategy, mentor teams, and ensure the highest standards of work across all projects. This role suits a strategic thinker who enjoys working across international markets and sectors, combining analytical rigour with creative flair. You will be pivotal in driving the agency's growth through excellent client service and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Strategy and Leadership
Act as the strategic lead for key government, corporate, and foundation clients.
Develop and implement bespoke communications strategies aligned with client objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor, providing senior counsel on reputation, stakeholder engagement, and crisis management.
Lead strategic planning sessions, workshops, and presentations with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
2. Campaign Development and Oversight
Oversee both strategic services (strategy, branding, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications) and tactical delivery (media relations, social media management, content production, events, website development, SEO, and award/speaker submissions).
Drive integrated campaigns that combine earned, owned, and shared media for maximum impact.
Maintain high creative standards and ensure alignment between strategic goals and tactical execution.
3. Team Leadership and Development
Lead and inspire a team of account managers and executives, promoting a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability.
Provide regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning.
Champion Curzon's professional and creative standards across all workstreams.
4. Financial and Business Growth
Manage account budgets and ensure profitability through smart resource planning.
Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts.
Support new business development through strategic input, proposal writing, and pitch participation.
5. Experience and Skills
8-10 years' experience in PR, communications, or marketing, ideally with international or multi-sector exposure.
Proven ability to lead large accounts and deliver measurable impact through strategic communications.
Strong experience advising senior leaders and managing complex stakeholders.
Exceptional writing, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Solid understanding of digital and traditional media landscapes.
Experience managing budgets and contributing to new business efforts.
Passion for cross-cultural communication and purpose-driven work.
