We are seeking a commercially aware, dynamic, personable, and enthusiastic Account Executive to join our growing company.
You will be required to travel regularly to the HQ in Bognor Regis, Sussex. As well as occasionally to the commercial office in Monmouth, South Wales, to work with the wider team.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
The Account Executive plays a fundamental role in Innovate Tax's growth and retention strategy. Innovate delivers professional services for large-scale tax technology transformations and system adoptions, and the Account Executive is responsible for ensuring existing clients realise maximum value from their engagement with Innovate Tax while driving sustained revenue growth.
The AE will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Innovate Tax's key client accounts, acting as the primary commercial and relationship owner. The role focuses on building trusted, long-term client relationships, driving renewals, upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities, and proactively managing retention risk.
The role carries a revenue and retention target. Therefore, the ability to understand client priorities, position Innovate Tax's value effectively, and lead commercial conversations is fundamental to success.
Own and manage a portfolio of Innovate Tax accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders within client organisations.
Develop a deep understanding of each client's business objectives, tax challenges, and technology landscape.
Drive revenue growth through contract renewals, upsell, and opportunities to position our partner products.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain our high client retention percentage.
Lead all commercial discussions including pricing, contract renewals, scope changes, and negotiations.
Collaborate closely with delivery, product, and support teams to ensure a consistently high-quality client experience.
Create and maintain up-to-date account plans, including client goals, value delivered, growth opportunities, and risk areas.
Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM records.
Represent Innovate Tax professionally and strategically in all client interactions.
Maintain regular, meaningful client engagement, including face-to-face and virtual meetings.
Focus on short-, medium-, and long-term account growth objectives agreed with the Account Manager / Commercial Director.
Ensure CRM activity and opportunity management is kept fully up to date.
3-Month Deliverables
Ownership of assigned client accounts with established relationships across key stakeholders.
Full understanding of active contracts, renewal dates, and growth opportunities.
Establish a pipeline of upsell or expansion opportunities.
Accurate account plans and CRM records in place.
Contribution to business revenue target through renewals or new account expansion.
6-Month Probationary Targets
Strong retention performance across assigned accounts.
Consistent and credible pipeline of upsell and expansion opportunities.
Demonstrable understanding of Innovate Tax's value propositions and services.
Forecast accuracy and on-target activity metrics via CRM reporting.
Closed revenue commitments (target value to be defined).

Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of CRM data for your client accounts.
Become confident in presenting Innovate Tax's services and value propositions.
Represent Innovate Tax at relevant client meetings, events, and industry forums.
Support marketing and customer advocacy initiatives such as case studies and references.
Desired Skills and Attributes
An interest in working closely with customers and building positive, long-term relationships (experience in client-facing roles or situations is helpful but not essential).
Confident and approachable, with the ability to speak comfortably with a range of people and build trust over time.

Requirements
A full, valid driving licence, with the ability to commute to the office when required.
Experience in a client-facing role or situations involving regular customer interaction (this could include sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or similar).
Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with customers by phone, email, and in person.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
A positive, reliable attitude and willingness to learn.
