Account Manager

to join our Pharmacy and Medicines commercial team on apermanent basis.

You will be joining our collaborative commercial team that are responsible for selling our solutions into the Community Pharmacy space. This is a dynamic role that blends account management, retention and selling to new prospects. You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to grow revenue and retain market share.

This is a field-based role working predominantly in the North of England with the requirement to meet with customers occasionally, and travel to our offices for team meetings quarterly. Therefore, you are required to have a full driving license.

What you'll do




As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving and delivering new business opportunities, new customer acquisition and customer development to ensure revenue streams are maximised.


You will work with existing and future customers and have full accountability for their customer satisfaction. Whilst managing your own customer portfolio, you will build and maintain credible relationships to provide a seamless sales experience.


Collaboration is key at Optum, not only will you work with our external customers but also work with internal teams to identify, scope and progress new ideas and growth opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:



Keep the sales forecast for your accounts accurate and up to date and attend sales forecast reviews as required Capture incoming enquiries, campaign leads and sales referrals and manage these and other opportunities in the Optum Client Relationship Management system to ensure accuracy of contact data Execute the sales process from qualification through to close, to include: demonstrations (where required), negotiation, orders and contract paperwork Calling prospects to identify new business opportunities and contacts and to generate interest in products and services

Who you'll be




You'll need to have proven experience of B2B sales with an excellent ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers. Working remotely, you will have the confidence to take ownership of your accounts whilst working on your initiative to provide excellent customer service.



Working with existing and future customers, you will demonstrate strong communication skills adapting to different audiences when required.

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:



Skilled negotiator, able to close deals and manage contracts confidently even in the face of challenges Ability to identify decision makers, influencers, etc. and collectively influence their short and long term strategic business plan
