Amazon is seeking an Account Manager for UK Gift Cards to lead sales strategies and partnerships with major UK retailers. The role involves developing new and existing retail relationships, driving gift card expansion, and managing account performance to increase Amazon's physical retail presence.
Key job responsibilities
Amazon is seeking an Account Manager for UK Gift Cards to join our Bricks and Mortar (B&M) team. This role is crucial in developing and executing sales strategies for both existing and new retail partners. The successful candidate will lead end-to-end relationship management with major UK retailers, including contract negotiations, growth planning, and performance optimization. They will drive the expansion of Amazon Gift Card presence across UK retail channels through new partner acquisition and develop co-marketing initiatives with retail partners to increase gift card sales and visibility. The Account Manager will analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities within the retail sector, create and implement strategic account plans to exceed revenue targets, and expand market share. Collaboration with product teams to enhance our gift card offerings and Point of Sale solutions will be essential, as well as managing the full P&L responsibility for assigned retail accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail account management or similar commercial roles, strong negotiation skills with experience in securing profitable retail partnerships, and expertise in developing and executing retail growth strategies. They should be adept at analyzing retail performance data and translating insights into action plans, with excellence in stakeholder management across multiple organizational levels. The B&M team drives Amazon's physical presence in retail through gift cards and Pin On Receipt solutions, offering the opportunity to significantly impact Amazon's retail footprint while working with the UK's leading retailers.
A day in the life
A typical day for this Account Manager involves a dynamic mix of activities:
They regularly analyze performance metrics from their retail partner portfolio, spotting trends and opportunities while preparing data-driven recommendations. Throughout the day, they engage in various partner meetings where they discuss everything from promotional strategies to new partnership opportunities. These conversations often involve negotiating better placement for Amazon Gift Cards or planning joint marketing initiatives.
The role requires frequent collaboration with internal Amazon teams, particularly when working on product improvements and commercial agreements. They might spend time drafting strategic plans for potential retail partners, conducting competitor analysis, or working on P&L statements for their accounts.
Much of their day involves relationship building and stakeholder management, whether it's addressing partner concerns, presenting performance updates, or exploring expansion opportunities with existing retailers. They're constantly switching between strategic thinking and hands-on execution, all while maintaining a focus on driving Amazon's physical retail presence in the UK through gift card solutions.
The variety in their day means they need to be adaptable, ready to handle both planned activities and unexpected challenges that arise in the retail partnership space.
