Account Manager wanted to join our team in VML Romania.
The opportunity:
Are you a dynamic and detail-oriented client services professional ready to make a significant impact on a global brand in Romania? VML Romania is seeking a proactive Account Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing our relationship with a key client in the tobacco industry (BAT).
This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in a complex and highly regulated sector, contribute to strategic projects, and work alongside a talented team to deliver innovative solutions for well-known brands.
What you'll be doing:
Day-to-Day Account Execution

  • Manage project workflows: creating schedules, estimates, tracking, and internal logistics to meet deadlines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring seamless communication across teams and timely delivery of campaign assets
  • Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, building relationships with multiple decision-makers and managing diverse expectations
  • Manages budgets, monitors campaign performance, and ensures financial accountability.
Campaign Coordination & Delivery
  • Translate strategic and creative briefs into actionable deliverables across channels (digital, CRM, trade)-working closely with creative, media, digital, and strategy teams
  • Interrogate briefs and confidently push back when necessary to ensure creative excellencensure high standards of execution and compliance with regulatory and brand guidelines.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Nurture strong internal relationships and coordinate vendors/external partners
  • Support client meetings: preparing presentations, updates, performance reporting, and facilitating required follow-ups
  • Acts as the escalation point for complex issues or delivery risks.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Track KPIs, campaign performance, and budget spend, flagging issues and reporting back to client and internal teams
  • Regularly provide analytical insights to optimize ongoing and future activations.
Cross-Functional Teamwork
  • Collaborate with creative, media, strategy, CRM, compliance, and regional teams to uphold standards and localise campaigns across varied markets.
  • Coordinate with local/regional offices to support multi-market rollouts and sensitivity to cultural nuances.
What we want from you:
  • Prior experience working in Account/Client services within an advertising agency/Global 1000/FMCG client
  • Proven experience meeting deadlines, precise planning, and resource coordination across channels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capacity to align client needs with agency capabilities; manage expectations at multiple levels
  • Proven experience across creative campaigns such as Brand positioning & Identity, integration & above the line, experiential & activation, digital and social, retail and point of sale, CRM & Loyalty, and product launches
  • Experience Managing budgets, monitoring campaign performance, and financial accountability.
  • High attention to detail; ability to translate briefs into flawless outputs consistent with regulatory standards
  • Confident with data analysis, tracking metrics, and delivering impactful performance updates
  • Capacity to liaise with diverse teams; agile in navigating global local marketing structures.
  • Ideally you will have experience working with tobacco or other highly regulated industries (alcohol, pharmaceuticals, etc.)
  • Understanding of compliance requirements in highly regulated industries; ability to find creative solutions within strict guidelines
  • Skilled in PowerPoint, Excel, project management tools, plus CRM & digital marketing platforms
  • Fluent in English; additional regional languages (Romanian, etc.) helpful for localized communication and coordination.
  • Proactive identification of potential issues; creative approach to overcoming obstacles; calm demeanour when addressing unexpected challenges.
  • Acts as the escalation point for complex issues or delivery risks.
  • Understanding of digital marketing channels; familiarity with emerging technologies; ability to integrate traditional and digital approaches
