Job Description

We are looking to appoint an Accountancy Assistant on a permanent basis within the Pension Fund.



This post is to provide dedicated direct financial support to the Durham County Council Pension Fund and will be based within the wider Penson Fund Team.



WHAT IS INVOLVED?



Our Finance team plays a vital role in managing and supporting the Pension Fund, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting and supporting the long-term security of members benefits.



Working in the Pension Finance function you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience and develop key financial processing skills.



As an Accountancy Assistant you will gain exposure to a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

Processing of unreconciled bank transactions. Maintaining the integrity of the Pension Funds General Ledger. Completing key reconciliations, working closely with the Pensions Administration team to resolve queries in a timely manner. Supporting the finance team with journal processing, invoice coding, and managing the Pension Finance mailbox. Assisting with the closure of the Pension Fund accounts.



We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and a willingness to learn and develop within a busy finance environment.

WHAT WILL I NEED?





You will need an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

OR

Level 2 qualification and relevant experience of working in a busy finance environment/working in a finance/support environment.



You should also be committed to working towards AAT Qualification
