Role Overview:
We're seeking a proactive, solution-oriented individual who constantly looks for smarter and more efficient ways to work.
You will be an enthusiastic and experienced Accountant and invaluable support to the directors. You will manage and foster client relationships, ensuring their requirements are met with the highest standards of service and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
Act as a point of contact for our portfolio of clients, responding in a timely matter to queries.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and goals.
Advising clients of their personal tax, corporation tax, VAT, payroll and P11D liabilities and payment dates.
Service Delivery
Providing tax and accounting advice to your clients.
Reviewing annual statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for limited companies.
Reviewing and sometimes preparing quarterly VAT returns.
Service Coordination and Delivery
Oversee the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to clients, ensuring precision and timeliness.
Coordinate with and guide the junior accountants and bookkeepers.
Ensure all client work adheres to the highest quality and compliance standards.
Business Development
Identify opportunities to expand services within the existing client base and support client retention.
Team Leadership and Development
Mentor and support junior team members, encouraging a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide training on technical issues and industry-specific financial challenges and solutions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
AAT, ACA or ACCA preferred but not essential -- or qualified by experience with the right track record.
Experience in a client facing role within an accountancy practice preferred.
Confident in managing client relationships and giving advice, not just doing the numbers
Skills & Attributes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, showing confidence in dealing with accounting and tax affairs.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, managing your workload without micro-management or close supervision.
Teamwork - the ability to get on well with team members and having a helpful nature to get stuck into whatever is required.
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset - always wanting to learn more, finding ways of working smarter and more efficiently.
Technical competence - an in-depth knowledge of accounting, VAT and tax standards and pro-actively keeping up to date with CPD requirements.
Proficient in accounting software.
