The Financial Management Service

The Financial Management Service within the Resources and Digital group operates at the core of the Council's financial operations. The Service is focused on the optimisation and safeguarding of financial and other resources in a dynamic and challenging environment.

The Role

This job profile reflects the flexible role within the Service across Accountancy and Internal audit function. An opportunity has arisen to join our motivated and enthusiastic Finance team as an

Accountant

within the

Accountancy function.

You will be working with Service Managers and Budget Holders across a number of services from throughout the Council to ensure that they have key financial information required to make decisions. This role is essential to provide financial advice and support whilst working in a dynamic and challenging fast paced environment.



Your duties will include working as part of a small team to provide professional advice, relevant, accurate and timely financial information to support the strategic financial management and planning services of the Council. The Accountant role requires individuals to be flexible to enable them to provide support across a varying number of Services and Directorates.



As either an AAT or CCAB qualified finance professional you'll bring extensive experience of working in a public sector environment and providing professional financial advice to a range of stakeholders. Effective communication, the ability to work to tight deadlines, Accountancy software and wider IT skills are essential.

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary:

41,771 - 48,226 pa
