Job Description

Due to ongoing growth, a new role for a practice accountant has become available. Working with a portfolio of over 250 small businesses across a range of industries with the core of our clients being in the social impact sector, this is a great opportunity to enhance your accounting knowledge while making a difference to the people of Liverpool and our surrounding areas.

About You:



You are a disciplined and highly driven individual who is nearing AAT completion, or you have already completed AAT level 4 and are always looking to continue growing as an individual both personally and professionally. You actively seek out problems to solve and have experience solving problems for clients and helping to improve their business. You have experience within a UK Accountancy Practice working on multiple clients and dealing with different deadlines and priorities. Most of all, you are looking to make a difference in the world in your own way.

Your Responsibilities



- Preparation of Statutory Accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Micro and Small Limited Companies and Charities.

- Liaison with key business stakeholders including clients & HMRC, ensuring key deadlines are met and information provided in a timely manner.

- Corporation Tax computations and Company Tax returns.

- Preparation of Personal Tax returns.

- General Bookkeeping duties and preparation of VAT returns for clients.

- Regular use of cloud-based accounting software such as Xero.

- Other ad-hoc tasks relating to the role.

Your Skills and Experience



- Minimum of 2 years' experience in UK Accountancy Practice.

- Either AAT qualified or late-stage AAT.

- Experience with Xero or similar cloud software packages.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Charity SORP experience preferred but not required.

- Discipline to work autonomously and problem solve.

- Positive attitude, willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

We operate with a hybrid working model utilising the historic Bluecoat building in central Liverpool for team collaboration in the office and also working from home for focused work.
