Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with expertise in various accounting software. This role will involve managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization while providing insights through financial analysis.

Responsibilities



Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections. Perform tax-related tasks, including preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning. Analyze financial data to provide insights on cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency. Prepare regulatory reports as required by governmental agencies. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices in accounting. Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, and Microsoft Excel for financial management tasks. Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, governmental accounting, public accounting, and securities law is advantageous. Proficiency in technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, debits & credits, and journal entries. Experience with financial report writing and interpretation as well as financial statement preparation is essential. Familiarity with payroll processing and auditing practices is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform cash flow analysis and account analysis effectively. Strong understanding of financial management principles including budgeting, forecasting, and financial acumen. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment while mentoring others when necessary. Pay: 24,420.00-52,000.00 per year
