Accountant
to join our growing team.
Role Overview
The Accountant will take responsibility for the full financial cycle across Tempstay and its sister companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proactive financial management. This is a hands-on role covering bookkeeping, tax, and financial planning, as well as contributing to strategic decision-making by advising on cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records for Tempstay and associated group companies.
Prepare and issue invoices; oversee accounts receivable and payable.
Process and schedule payments to suppliers, contractors, and landlords.
Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
Conduct monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and financial records.
Prepare director tax returns and assist with other statutory filings.
Produce regular financial reports including cash flow forecasts, budgets, and management accounts.
Work with senior leadership on financial planning and forecasting.
Advise on and implement cost-saving measures across the group.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC when required.
Support the wider team with financial queries and provide guidance where necessary.
Requirements
Part-qualified or fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Proven experience in bookkeeping, VAT returns, and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
Attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple group companies and prioritise effectively.
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
