About the Role




We have a 12 month Placement position for an Accounting Analyst to work within our team of accountants and financial analysts who are involved with the accounts preparation and financial management of Lockheed Martin UK Ltd and other associated legal entities. This will enable you to gain significant experience in the financial and accounting activities of a major international corporation, working in a challenging environment.


What You'll Be Doing:Data Analysis & Reporting: Support the team by gathering and analyzing data from ledgers and various financial systems. Use Excel and other tools to present insights and contribute to financial decision-making. SAP System Experience: Gain hands-on experience with SAP, one of the most widely-used financial systems globally. You'll manage financial transactions, accounting tasks, and become proficient in an essential business tool. Month-End & Year-End Support: Get involved in critical month-end and year-end activities such as journal posting, reconciliations, and financial reporting, providing you with a real-world understanding of the financial closing process. External Audit Interaction: Assist in preparing for external audits and work closely with auditors, gaining exposure to the audit process and learning how financial compliance is maintained in a large multinational company. Process Improvement: Be part of projects that improve financial processes, internal controls, and efficiency across the finance team. Your contributions will help shape the future of financial operations. Special Projects: Take ownership of or assist with ad-hoc financial projects that challenge you to think critically and expand your financial knowledge.

Required skills, qualifications and experience




General knowledge of business and financial matters Proficient in the use of spreadsheets (Excel) Able to work to tight deadlines and balance a number of competing priorities Attention to detail, accuracy and articulate Strong commitment and high motivation required Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to liaise with all levels of the organisation, multiple departments and external customers/auditors Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to listen to others and adapt accordingly when necessary Ability to evolve and improve the systems and process Integrity to ensure the 'right thing' is done, especially in the area of internal controls

Desirable Skills:Ability to think creatively and develop new processes and applications. Proficient in use of word processing (Word) software and presentation (PowerPoint) software. Double entry bookkeeping knowledge

Desired Education:Candidates studying for a degree in the fields of Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or related areas and are expecting at least a 2:1.
