Job Title: Accounting Manager
Salary: 80,000-95,000 (dependent on experience)

Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)
A leading international charity is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to establish and lead its financial operations in the UK. This is a rare opportunity to be the first finance and operations hire in-country, helping build the infrastructure to support accounting, payroll, HR, and compliance functions as the organisation expands globally from its U.S. headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day UK accounting operations and maintain strong internal controls.
• Prepare and review timely client financial statements with accurate analysis.
• Manage client cash flow, banking relationships, investment accounts, and tax/audit processes.
• Build and maintain annual budgets and cash forecasting for client portfolios.
• Consolidate financial reporting across clients for organisational planning and compliance.
• Coordinate audits, statutory reporting, and ensure UK tax and charity regulation compliance.
• Supervise and mentor UK-based Senior Accountant(s).

What We're Looking For:

• Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including team leadership.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP, charity accounting standards, and statutory reporting.
• Proven success in managing audits, budgets, and financial planning.
• Experience building or scaling finance functions in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting.
• Familiarity with donor funding, grant agreements, and restricted funds.
• Comfortable working independently and remotely in a high-growth or start-up environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite is a bonus.
