Location:

Police HQ, Northallerton with the opportunity for hybrid working arrangements


Salary:

24,628 - 35,172 (Scale 2 - 8)


Contract:

Permanent


Hours:

Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

We have an exciting opportunity for an

Accounting Technician

to join our

Finance Team

!





We are looking for someone to join our Finance Team and contribute to the core accounting function. The right person will be somebody part or fully AAT qualified or, somebody who has equivalent experience within a finance environment.




Key responsibilities:





You will be responsible for supporting the wider Finance department in carrying out transactional accounting to the year-end, annual budget and in year budget monitoring processes. This will include processing transactions to the Oracle finance system, treasury management activity, Journals, Budget and Forecast Virements.




Additional duties will include, but are not limited to

:


Performing month end processing, and preparing reconciliations in accordance with the agreed timetable Carry out workflow monitoring and participate /contribute toward associated error resolution Contribute toward support and development of system environments Assist with provision of service reporting to colleagues




You will have a high degree of accuracy, work effectively as part of a team and adhere to tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key to being successful in this role as you will be required to respond to queries and provide advice on financial processes to non-financial colleagues.





In this role, you will be fully supported by the Finance department and will have the opportunity to work with various teams. There is always something to learn in this role, so if you are analytical, have a passion for Finance and problem solving, then we want to hear from you!
