We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Accounting and Business Solutions Team to be based from our Aberdeen or Dundee office. The successful candidate would have a key role in supporting managers and partners in delivering high-quality accountancy services. This includes preparing financial accounts, management reports, and bookkeeping/VAT services for a diverse range of clients.

What does the role include?



The role is varied, and responsibilities include:

Prepare financial statements for a range of clients, including limited companies, in line with FRS 105 and FRS 102, partnerships and LLPs. Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts for a range of owner managed businesses. Prepare charity accounts and understand the principles of fund accounting and Charities SORP compliance Conduct independent examinations of charity financial statements on both accruals and receipts & payments basis Collaborate with colleagues across departments--such as tax and payroll--to ensure efficient and accurate service delivery Build professional relationships with clients, responding to queries confidently and escalating issues where appropriate Support the wider team by assisting with ad-hoc tasks, administrative duties and involvement in internal projects

What we are looking for:



The successful candidate will:

AAT qualified or part-qualified CA/ACCA, or qualified by experience Have a minimum of 18 month of experience within a professional accounting practice Strong numerical and data analysis skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure Strong written and verbal communication skills and a client-focused approach Ability to interpret and analyse financial data, and apply problem-solving skills Positive, proactive and flexible attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and continuous development A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively and taking ownership of their responsibilities You'll have the chance to use/expand your skills in handling independent examinations for charities and preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients across various sectors.
