Contract: Maternity Cover (with potential for a permanent role)

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team in Colne on a maternity cover basis. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day finance and administrative operations of the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable who is looking to join a friendly, supportive team. While the role is initially to cover maternity leave, there may be an opportunity for a permanent position depending on business needs and candidate availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Support the Finance Director with day-to-day financial administration
Process invoices, credit notes, and payments in a timely and accurate manner
Reconcile supplier statements and deal with payment queries
Monitor customer accounts and assist with credit control
Maintain organised financial records and filing systems
Provide general administrative support across the finance department
Assist with month-end duties as required
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role
Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) is desirable
A proactive and professional approach
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm)
The position is offered as a maternity cover role, with consideration for a permanent role depending on future availability within the team
