We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Department in delivering accurate and efficient accounting operations. The role involves processing financial data, assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, and maintaining the integrity of financial records using various accounting systems and software. This position is essential in supporting the financial health of the company and offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with prior experience or recent graduates looking to develop their career within a professional finance environment.
Duties
Use 4PS to extract data and prepare sales invoices and valuations, as required.
Maintain accurate purchase ledger and sales ledger, including scanning, filing, and document management.
Prepare and process financial documents, including invoices, bills, payments, receipts, and expense claims, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Enter and maintain financial data within accounting systems and databases.
Verify account balances, investigate discrepancies, and post correcting entries where necessary.
Perform bank reconciliations, including verification of bank deposits.
Monitor and report on creditors and aged payables.
Sort, code, and post financial documents to the appropriate nominal, supplier, and customer accounts.
Handle queries from support team, suppliers and clients relating to invoices, payments, and account balances.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and ad-hoc financial reports.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist with payroll administration and related accounting entries, as required.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
Provide ad-hoc accounting and administrative support across East West Group companies, as required.
Knowledge
Achieved or is working towards bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel
Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Skills
Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members
Good levels of verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate Excel skills and MS Office skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Responds well to deadlines
Desire and willingness to learn new concepts and approach
Previous experience of using a 4PS, Job Logic (or similar CAFM system) would be an advantage
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
