For individuals, we handle self-assessment tax returns ranging from straightforward UK cases to complex double-taxation matters involving foreign assets, inheritance tax and capital gains tax. For businesses, we provide full UK and Spanish accounting services, tax advice and business advisory support. Our client portfolio includes companies with revenues typically between 2 million and 20 million, and we regularly liaise with auditors internationally.

Role Overview
We are seeking an
Accounts Assistant
to work closely with and shadow our Senior Accountant. The role is hands-on and varied, covering day-to-day compliance work and giving exposure to more complex cross-border matters such as UK-Spain tax and international structures.
This position is ideal for someone with
around 1 to 2 years' experience
in an accountancy practice who wants to develop quickly with close mentoring, clear structure and professional study support.
We welcome
foreign-qualified accountants from Europe or South America
who wish to build their careers in the UK. Candidates may be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience (AAT / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
This is a
full-time, office-based and client-facing role
in our City of London office.
Key Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of our Senior Accountant, you will:
Support with the
preparation and submission of statutory accounts
for companies (typical turnover 2m-20m).
Assist with
bookkeeping
for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based accounting software.
Prepare and process
payroll
for employees and directors, including starters, leavers and basic queries.
Prepare and submit
self-assessment tax returns
for individuals and company directors (including international aspects).
Prepare and submit
VAT returns
, including reconciliations and basic review work.
Assist in producing
management accounts
and supporting schedules.
Help with
Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
returns and reconciliations.
Liaise with
auditors
, particularly on engagements involving UK and Spanish entities.
Support and, over time, help supervise
trainees
, including basic task allocation and review.
Provide
ad hoc administrative support
to the office where required (filing, client onboarding, AML/KYC checks, etc.).
About You - Skills, Experience & Character
Experience & Knowledge
Around
1 to 2 years' experience
in an accountancy practice (UK or international).
Some exposure to
bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and/or self-assessment
is highly desirable.
AAT / ACCA / CIMA student, foreign-qualified, or equivalent - we are open on exam status, but you must bring solid foundations and a willingness to learn.
Technical Skills
Strong
Excel
skills (including basic use of pivot tables).
Comfortable using accounting and tax software (experience with
TaxCalc
or similar is an advantage).
Good general IT skills and confidence with cloud-based tools.
