hybrid

basis with a base in Manchester. Brave The Skies and Space 48 made the decision at the start of the pandemic to go fully

remote

which still holds to this day. This doesn't mean we don't like each other, quite the opposite. Our culture is at the heart of our values across Dark Matter Commerce and therefore every employee goes through a culture interview as part of the employment process. Both remote and hybrid working has meant that we are no longer limited by walls and geography when we are hiring. We now look far and wide for the best expertise to join our business to continue the delivery of an amazing service. The role is fully remote but the option is there to work on a hybrid basis should someone prefer.


The finance team is looking for someone to join the team who can support on a wide variety of tasks. This role is not limited, if you are looking to continue to grow, develop and learn then those opportunities will be there in abundance.

What You'll Be Doing

The following should give you an idea of how you will be spending your time. It is not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role:


Each month you will be involved in :

Sales Ledger

Raise sales invoices to clients and handle queries Credit control responsibilities Set up new clients including background checks Debtors reporting

Purchase Ledger

Post supplier invoices Prepare supplier payment runs Credit card back up documentation reconciliation Expense processing and payment in line with agreed policy Post accruals and prepayments as required

Other duties

Bank reconciliations Ad hoc reporting

Knowledge and Experience

Previous finance experience in a similar role Good experience with MS Excel Inquisitive, looking for the anomalies and nuances Excellent communication skills Organisation skills and able to work autonomous as well as a team Comfortable multi-tasking A good analytical mind who is keen to get into the detail and look at trends and variances Previous experience of online accounting software preferred (e.g. Xero, Sage) Preferred qualification AAT Experience in a service business is strongly preferred but not required Desiring remote working
