We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our team in a fast-paced environment. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to get hands on experience on the day to day running of the accounting operations within an expanding business setting.
You will be working alongside our accounting team to ensure our accounts department works efficiently and provides support to the rest of the organization.
You will be frequently assigned varying tasks and will need to keep up with impending deadlines.
This role is the perfect opportunity for someone who has studied AAT or is a Finance Graduate and is keen to advance their skills and knowledge on this profession.
Key Responsibilities:
Issue purchase orders and process supplier invoices
Issue invoices, monitor credit limits and be proactive with outstanding payments
Assist with project cost tracking and cash flow monitoring
Maintain accurate records throughout the accounts' operations
Liaise with other departments, managers, quantity surveyors, and procurement teams
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Complete due diligence checks on clients and suppliers
Provide general administrative support to the finance department
Requirements:
Previous experience in an accounts role, preferably in the construction industry (but not essential)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications
Working knowledge of at least one accounting software like Sage 50, Xero or QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
AAT qualification or working towards it (preferred)
Minimum GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
Experience of using a plant hire software would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided
Working Hours: 8 AM - 5PM
Days: Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: Will be negotiated on skills and experience.
