motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant
to join our growing team.
Role Overview
As an
Accounts Assistant
, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, focusing on
credit control
,
purchase ledger
, and
sales ledger
management. You'll play an important role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining supplier and customer relationships, and assisting with reporting and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
Manage
credit control
, chasing outstanding payments and ensuring timely collections.
Process and maintain
purchase ledger
transactions, including supplier invoices and payments.
Prepare and issue
sales invoices
, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Reconcile
customer and supplier accounts
, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
Assist with
bank reconciliations
and monitor company
cash flow
.
Process
employee expenses
and support financial documentation.
Prepare reports such as
aged debt analysis
and
supplier payment schedules
.
Maintain a basic understanding of
VAT
and assist with related tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong understanding of
basic accounting principles
and financial administration.
Basic understanding of Xero accounting software.
Proficient in
Microsoft Excel
and confident using IT systems.
Excellent
numerical accuracy
and strong
attention to detail
.
Confident
communication
and
negotiation
skills, particularly in credit control.
Ability to
work independently
and manage workload effectively.
Minimum
3 years' experience in credit control
.
