The Role



As our Accounts Assistant, you'll be the right-hand to our Financial Controller, supporting all finance operations and ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processes across the business.

What You'll Do



Manage the Credit Control function

Assist with month-end closing and reporting

Prepare sales, debtor, and branch stock reports

Support year-end audits and schedules

Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts

Process purchase invoices, credit notes and reconcile supplier statements

Review and co-ordinate supplier payments

Collate time & attendance data for payroll submission

Administer the Company Pension scheme

Prepare quarterly VAT returns

Compile monthly data for analytics

Provide branch support for cash and card issues, including staff induction

Report incidents to the insurance company

Act as system administrator for Bistrack

Ensure legal storage and destruction of company documents

Suggest improvements to finance processes and efficiencies

Take on any other tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller

Skills & Experience



Experience in a finance role, preferably in an SME

Hands-on knowledge of Accounts Payable/Receivable

Strong bank reconciliation experience

Confident Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation)

Experience with accounting software desirable

AAT qualification is a bonus

Training on Bistrack and Microsoft Great Plains provided
