We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our busy Accounts team. You will support the finance function across our Volvo, Honda and BYD dealerships, as well as assist the wider Admin team when required.

The Role - What you'll be doing:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the Accounts team with day-to-day finance operations, including managing sales and purchase ledgers, reconciling accounts, processing transaction, and assisting with month-end activities. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of the department.

You will do this by:

- Daily banking and cash handling

- Sales ledger: posting bank transactions, credit control, and following up debtor queries with departmental managers and customers

- Nominal ledger: posting bank, intercompany and other nominal ledger journals

- Petty cash management

- Assisting with month-end close and resolving queries

- Purchase ledger: coding and inputting invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier statements, running payments, and resolving supplier queries

- Supporting general sales administration and reporting

- Responding to internal and external finance queries promptly

- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems

About you:

- Excellent numeracy skills and strong attention to detail

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)

- Minimum of one year's experience in a similar accounts role

- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy

- Confident handling queries face-to-face, over the phone, and via email

- Capable of prioritising workload effectively
