The Purpose of the Role
You will play a pivotal role in the day to day financial administration of the companies activities. As a bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Working closely with the Head of Finance for the Group, on all financial transactions, along with other colleagues on invoicing, supplier and client management. You will be tasked with dealing with sales and purchase ledger, invoice quires, and other general accounting duties.
Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy open office environment. The opportunity is a part time (either 3 full days or 5 half days) as a temp to permanent position and a background of working as an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper or Finance Administrator is desired.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organised, and have excellent communication skills. You will have strong proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar. Also able to demonstrate a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
You must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using formulas. Skilled data entry and input accuracy, with problem solving skills through review and insight.
Duties Include - but not limited to
Processing payroll for all employees- including calculating all hourly rates, taxes and deductions.
Financial Record Keeping including sales, purchase and expenses using bespoke in-house accounting software
Accounts Payable and Receivable - Track invoices, payments and overdue accounts - maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.
Manage the Bank and Cash reconciliation across the business Month-End Management Accounts Support
Budget monitoring and reconciliation - identifying variances and actions to correct
Manage and monitor expense management - fuel cards etc
Updating and maintaining supplier and customer information
Filing and a range of other finance administrative duties
Collaboration and teamwork skills
Project management abilities, including multitasking, prioritisation and deadline management
Key Knowledge and Skills of the Accounts Assistant
At least 2 years experience in an accounts focused environment
Strong Microsoft Excel and other application skills
Organisational Skills
Capable of self-management when not supervised
Fastidious attention to detail
Strong analytical and numerical skills

Salary: 14.00-17.00 per hour depending upon experience and skills
