Job Overview


We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be either part-qualified or qualified by experience and play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall accounting functions of our property management organisation.

The Role:



Landlord Accounts:Accurately process and allocate rent receipts, generate and reconcile landlord remittance advices and annual statements, input supplier invoices and payment approvals and runs to landlords and contractors and follow up any rent arrears. Block Management Accounts*: Produce annual budgets, process service charge invoices and receipts, input contractor invoices and record payments and follow up any service charge arrears.
Accounts Management:Manage daily bank reconciliations, payments and receipts. Month-End and Year-End Support:Assist in preparing journals (accruals, prepayments), reconcile balance sheet accounts, and contribute to monthly reporting on the landlord accounts, contribute to annual reporting on the block management accounts and liaise with the accountants with any year end queries. Record-Keeping & Compliance:Ensure accurate financial records, maintain documentation for audits, and follow approval protocols, including those required by any regulators specific to the property industry. General:Liaise with landlords, tenants, contractors and any other parties in relation to any financial queries as and when needed, and to generally assist the office team to answer phone calls, meet and greet clients and as necessary.

Requirements



Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience. Experience as a bookkeeper, an accounts assistant or similar finance role. Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial processes. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software. We currently use Expert Agent, Resident and Sage so previous use of any of this software is advantageous. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. Experience in a finance team in a lettings or property management company is desirable. Great communication skills, both verbal and written. Positive attitude and willing to work as part of a team.
