We are a growing Financial Services and Wealth Management business based in Reigate, Surrey. Until now, we have relied on external bookkeeping support, but as our company expands, we are creating a new in-house Accounts & Finance Manager role. The Role
As the Accounts & Finance Manager, you will be hands-on and take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations and play a key role in shaping and implementing financial processes and routines for the future. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll ensure the smooth running of financial management, accurate reporting, and compliance with all relevant financial and tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist to introduce systems for routine financial reporting and expense management (including staff expenses) to create a disciplined, internal financial environment for the business.
Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record-keeping, including:
Maintain and reconcile ledgers, journals, bank accounts, and credit cards.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and expense management.
Process and reconcile income and costs associated with revenue sources.
Process and reconcile financial adviser income and associated costs.
Payroll processing and payment, including staff expenses.
Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and financial reports for the owners and leadership team.
Support annual tax returns, statutory filings, and audit processes, working closely with external accountants. Document management and retention.
Review, improve, and implement efficient financial systems, controls, and procedures.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
About You
We are looking for someone proactive and organised, who can bring both technical expertise and the confidence to establish best practice in a small but ambitious company.
This is not a customer facing role, however we are a people and customer centric organisation, and where your outputs impact customers, your communication and interpersonal abilities are also key to the wider team in the business and our customers.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, finance management, perhaps a similar role in a small/medium-sized business
Strong knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting and forecasting.
Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Sage currently used, though we are open to an alternative),
Good understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT regulations, and payroll processes,
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver results to deadlines
Clear communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, advisers, and external partners
