A fast-growing, future-focused accountancy practice is now seeking a Manager to join it's Chelmsford office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who is confident managing clients, reviewing work, developing junior staff, and driving high standards across accounts and financial reporting. You'll have autonomy over your own client portfolio while contributing to the wider growth and success of the office.
Role Responsibilities
Manage your own portfolio of SME clients, ensuring an exceptional standard of service and delivery.
Review year-end accounts, management accounts, and VAT work prepared by the team.
Provide proactive financial and commercial advice to clients, helping them better understand their numbers and processes.
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
Support, supervise, and develop junior members of the team.
Ensure all work is compliant with statutory, ethical, and professional standards.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and quality through collaboration and technology.
Assist with ad-hoc advisory projects as required.
Personal Requirements
ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or QBE with strong practice experience.
Proven experience managing a portfolio or taking ownership of client relationships.
Strong technical grounding in accounts preparation and financial reporting.
Confident user of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
Commercially minded, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively.
Able to mentor and develop junior team members.
