Hi Level Mezzanines is the country's leading supplier of mezzanine floors and an opportunity has arisen within our company for an Accounts Manager.
The company has been designing and installing mezzanine floors to the highest quality in the industry for over 30 years with projects ranging from small, single storey floors right through to large, complex multi-tiered installations covering the whole UK, Southern Ireland, across Europe and the Far East.
You will be responsible to the Finance Director but to also be able to work with your own initiative/timeframes. The candidate will need to have previous experience with the Construction Industry Scheme, VAT & Payroll.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger management; processing of daily/monthly sales invoices, credit control. Liaising with customer's queries.
Purchase Ledger management; ensuring supplier invoices and payments are processed. This will include the management of the company utility bills.
Construction Industry Scheme; manage the CIS ledger, to include verification of new sub-contractors and have knowledge of how the CIS scheme works inc Reverse Charge VAT. Prepare and manage monthly CIS returns.
VAT; ensure VAT returns are prepared, checked and submitted on a monthly basis
Payroll; manage monthly Payroll. Monitor Employment Contracts.
Bank; reconcile daily bank transactions
Company Insurances; managed all business insurances inc Motor Fleet. Attend annual renewal meetings with Broker
Utilise accounting software (Quickbooks) to maintain accurate financial records and help with the migration of moving over to a paperless system.
Management Accounts, Corporation Tax, P11d's - these are roles that will, in due course, be passed over to the candidate
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in using Quickbooks Accounting & Payroll would be an advantage but can be taught
Good understanding of accounts receivable/payable
Good understanding of how the CIS scheme works
Knowledge of VAT and processing returns
Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines for various returns
Good telephone manner
Hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch.
The role is based at our office in Petersfield, Hampshire.
