Location:

Baldock (office-based)

Hours:

Part-time, 20 hours per week (flexible start and finish times)

Contract:

12-month maternity cover, with potential for ongoing employment for the right person

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive

Accounts & Operations Administrator

to support the smooth running of our business operations. This varied role combines financial administration with general office and operational management responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key part in keeping our systems, suppliers, and compliance up to date.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Administration



Manage office services including rent, rates, utilities, telephones, IT, internet, and mobile contracts. Oversee company vehicle administration: tax, MOT, servicing, licensing, and insurance. Support HR and employee administration, including payroll preparation, CIS submissions, HMRC filings, pensions, and communication of payment calculations. Liaise with external service providers such as insurance, HR, and accounting partners. Maintain ISO and CPA documentation and update results as required.

Accounts Administration



Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate

accounts payable

records. Manage supplier relationships including requesting Public Liability Insurance (PLI) certificates, collecting UTR codes, reconciling payable statements, and handling credit control. Support general bookkeeping and financial administration tasks as required.
About You

Proven experience in an administrative, operations, or accounts-based role. Strong working knowledge of

QuickBooks

(or similar accounting software) is ideal but not essential Good understanding of bookkeeping and business administration processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfortable learning new systems. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
