What's the role?





Job Title: Accounts Payable Analyst



Team: Finance



Location: London

Overview of the role





This newly created position within the Finance team has been established to support the company's continued growth. The role will mainly be focused on Accounts Payable functions but also offers the opportunity to gain exposure to broader finance processes, providing a strong foundation for someone looking to grow within a dynamic and evolving finance function.

Responsibilities




Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner using an automated invoice processing tool Reconcile and allocate accounts payable transactions to invoices and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers or internal departments Assist in preparing supplier payment runs and maintaining the accuracy of the Accounts Payable ledger Assist with the staff expense process by reviewing submissions for required receipts and supporting information, ensuring compliance with company policies, and following up with employees to obtain any missing documentation Maintain supplier records, ensuring contact and payment information is current Communicate with suppliers regarding billing issues, payment status, and account reconciliations Respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and within payment terms Support continuous improvement initiatives in accounts payable processes, systems, and automation tools



Requirements




Some experience in an Accounts Payable function, with a basic understanding of accounting principles such as debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping (preferred but not essential) Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative to complete tasks independently A degree in Accounting, Finance, or another numerically focused subject is advantageous but not required; candidates currently studying toward a professional accounting qualification are also encouraged Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other Microsoft Office applications Strong written and verbal communication skills Approaches collaboration with a positive attitude and values contributing to an inclusive and respectful workplace Builds strong working relationships and communicates effectively with colleagues across all levels
