Job Title: Accounts Payable Assistant
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract 12months
Location: Petersfield, Bradford, Chatham
Working Pattern: Hybridxe2x80x94typically a couple of days a week in the office. Part-time or flexible arrangements are considered to support work-life balance. The Role:
You and Your Team:
In this role, youll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense claims, and payments. Youll also support the generation and monitoring of receivables, helping to maintain strong financial controls and excellent supplier relationships.

As a Accounts Payable Assistant you will:
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure all accounts payable activities are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Processing invoices and credit notes with correct VAT treatment and coding.
  • Supporting suppliers in using the COUPA portal to streamline invoice processing.
  • Preparing and executing payment runs, including BACS, CHAPS, and international payments.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
  • Managing expense claims and credit card reconciliations in line with policy.
  • Raising sales invoices and monitoring outstanding payments.
  • Supporting internal and external audits and contributing to process improvements.
What Were Looking For:
  • Experience in accounts payable and receivable processing.
  • Strong understanding of VAT, expenses policy, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as CODA, COUPA, and Access Dimensions.
  • Confident using Excel and handling large volumes of data.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
