The role of Accounts Payable Assistant is an integral part of a business' accounting team. The purpose of the role is to process supplier invoices in an accurate and timely manner so that Buffaload meets its financial obligations and maintains good relationships with suppliers, contractors and staff.
Responsibilities
Process purchase invoices against purchase orders using Microsoft Business Central, Blue Crystal and OCR scanning software
Daily reconciliation of bank account
Liaise with supplier relationship holders with any related queries on purchase orders or invoices
Take calls and communicate or address issues in a professional and timely manner
Complete and maintain reports on a weekly, monthly, annual or ad hoc basis
Manage and maintain fleet assets within the finance system, including the hiring or de-hiring of vehicle assets
Taxation of the fleet and ensure any charges are paid in line with fleet compliance
Financial management and posting of company credit card transactions
Checking for anomalies and supplier account reconciliations on a regular basis
Liaise with the Financial Controller to pay any proforma invoices upfront to allow the collection of parts
Reconciliation of surcharge invoices ensuring that credit notes have been received for all returned parts
Qualifications
Good GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and English
Experience
Essential - Previous experience working within a finance team, computer literacy, confidence using Microsoft Excel and accounts payable software
Desirable - Previous accounts experience, statement reconciliation, experience working within a similar business and/ or industry and use of Microsoft Business Central
Skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills; toward both colleagues and customers
Good organisational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritise
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with suppliers, contractors and business partners, including conflict resolution
Must be fluent in English due to the nature of the role
Attention to detail and problem solving
