Are you an organised and motivated finance professional looking to join a dynamic team? We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to ensure our group's liabilities are settled promptly and accurately, while supporting the continual development of our Accounts Payable (AP) team. You'll play a key role in maintaining financial controls, supporting month-end processes, and driving improvements in our payment systems.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Process Improvement
+ Implement and maintain AP systems, procedures, and policies.
+ Drive continuous improvement, including increasing electronic payments.
Operational Planning & Management
+ Set up and manage regular payment runs to ensure timely vendor payments.
+ Ensure retailers are paid in line with terms and understand related systems.
+ Oversee the invoice approval and payment process from purchase request to payment.
+ Process expense claims in line with company guidelines.
+ Set up new vendors according to company procedures.
+ Prepare ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
+ Develop a costing matrix for company expenditure.
Finance Planning & Management
+ Ensure accurate coding of all invoices.
+ Prepare month-end journals for accruals and prepayments.
+ Complete all month-end procedures accurately and on time.
+ Assist with month-end postings and balance sheet reconciliations.
+ Support year-end file completion and audit queries.
+ Reconcile monthly vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
+ Assist the Treasury Manager with cash outgoings planning.
+ Manage agency cash postings accurately and on time.

+ Identify and evaluate financial risks.

About You
Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role.
Strong organisational, analytical, and account reconciliation skills.
High integrity and work ethic.
Ability to maintain a high-control environment.
Advanced MS Office skills (desirable).
Experience with JD Edwards or MS Dynamics 365 (desirable).
