The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented
Accounts Payable Clerk
to join our finance team and support the day-to-day financial operations and administration at our BYD Bristol North site. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing payment processes, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting interdepartmental and headquarters coordination, and assisting with general office administration to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Update and reconcile daily bank transactions across all company and sub-accounts; ensure timely and accurate data entry in the designated finance system.
Work closely with internal teams to monitor payment records, ensure customer payments are communicated promptly, and support interdepartmental coordination.
Liaise with China and Hong Kong headquarters to compile and send payment instructions based on local cash flow, and assist with intercompany account reconciliations.
Reserve and prepare redemption funds based on sales and accounting feedback to prevent payment delays or failures.
Maintain and optimise in-store POS machine usage, including periodic analysis of transaction fees to control costs.
Manage company card usage and transaction logs in line with internal policies.
Record and reconcile all payments and expenses, ensuring alignment with OA approval processes and accurate documentation of related invoices.
Support monthly accounts payable runs, staff expense processing, credit control duties, and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
Provide clear explanations for daily cash flow to shared service finance teams and contribute to accurate reporting and financial record-keeping.
Assist with general office administration and other ad-hoc tasks as required to support site-level operational needs.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in accounts or finance.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred, but not essential.
Must be eligible to work in the UK (full-time). No visa sponsorship will be offered for this position.
