What you'll be doing:
Manage the daily operations of the Accounts Payable Team
Oversea timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports and payments
Ensure the correct coding of expenses inline with the chart of accounts
Expense, Credit card and Procurement system invoice exports
Process supplier approvals
Respond to, distribute and monitor Supplier chases and queries
Review and approve daily ad hoc supplier payments
Ensure that key vendor accounts are monitored and reconciled, actively resolving and differences
Provide Team and Manager absence cover as appropriate
Take responsibility for the management of the monthly Purchase Ledger close
Implement process and procedures for Monthly review of Aged Creditors
Monitor and ensure receipt of Supplier rebates in conjunction with Head of Procurement
Aged Creditor balance confidence (ongoing project)
Manage business critical supplier relations
Provide support and training of Accounts Assistants
Produce summary report monthly and communicate at monthly review meeting outstanding issues in relation to AP
Lead, coach and develop the AP team as part of a continuous improvement approach
Drive improvements in AP processes, automation and system efficiency
Annual audit support for Accounts Payable
We think you'll thrive if you have:
Experience in managing an AP ledger within a large Finance function
Experience in hospitality or multi-site retail is desirable
To be articulate and computer literate
Accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
To be methodical and organised
A professional approach
The ability to manage your activities and prioritise your workload
Work well as part of a team and on your own as required
Be able to evidence providing leadership and support to teams
Attention to detail
Proactive team member
Continuously aiming to improve processes and systems
Knowledge of Business Central/Microsoft 365 or similar accounting system
Qualified by experience or part qualified (AAT / CIMA / ACCA)
