Job Description

Company Overview

99 Bikes UK, part of the global leader in bicycle retail, Pedal Group, is rapidly expanding our presence in the United Kingdom. We're on a mission to provide top-quality bikes, gear, and services to cycling enthusiasts, and we believe in fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement to achieve that.

We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our journey. You'll be a key part of the finance team, helping to shape our future by managing the company's payables and receivables. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business that focuses on innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, both in the UK and across the wider Pedal Group network.

Role Summary

As an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for the efficient and accurate management of both the company's payables and receivables. You will ensure the smooth flow of financial transactions by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing collections. Your role is critical in maintaining healthy cash flow and fostering strong relationships with both suppliers and customers. You will leverage your high attention to detail and proactive attitude to support the finance department and contribute to the overall financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately review, codes, and record all accounts payable transactions, ensuring they have the necessary approvals and comply with company policies to facilitate timely payments. Proactively reconcile supplier statements against the purchase ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies or payment issues to maintain positive vendor relationships. Perform daily bank reconciliations, matching transactions and identifying any variances to ensure the accuracy of financial records. Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable cycle, which includes generating and sending invoices, posting payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure efficient cash flow. Provide essential administrative support to the finance department, assisting with tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence to help maintain smooth operations. Collaborate with the team on ad-hoc projects and tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute beyond your core duties.

What are we looking for

You possess an exceptionally high attention to detail and have the ability to manage your workload independently, prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You bring a positive, can-do attitude and a strong team spirit, actively collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals. Experience using accounting software like Xero is preferred, as it will allow you to quickly integrate into our systems, but full training will be provided if required. You possess strong communication and organisational skills, enabling you to interact professionally with both internal and external stakeholders and maintain a structured workflow.
