Accounts Receivable / Finance Assistant
to support our finance team in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining smooth financial operations.
This is a
part-time position
with flexibility on working days--however, you
must be available to work on Fridays
.
In this vital role, you will handle day-to-day accounts receivable tasks, support credit control activities, and assist with finance administration. You'll build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to keep account processes running smoothly.
Job Tasks
1. Manage outstanding debts and follow up with customers on overdue payments.
2. Communicate with clients via phone and email to resolve account queries.
3. Send copy invoices and payment reminders.
4. Maintain and update aged debt tracking spreadsheets with payment commitments and notes.
5. Allocate incoming payments, generate invoices, and run customer statements using Orderwise.
6. Manage the company's credit insurance policy, ensuring limits are up to date.
7. Evaluate and set up new customer credit accounts.
8. Control the SEPA payment process via the Spanish banking system.
9. Process manual invoices through customer invoicing portals.
10. Organise monthly credit review meetings with the Sales team.
11. Monitor the Accounts Inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
12. Provide cover and support for Accounts Payable when required.
13. Assist in the general operations of the finance department.

The Person
To carry out the duties above, the following skills, competencies and experiences are necessary:
1. Experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar finance role.
2. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
3. Strong commercial awareness and a keen eye for detail.
4. Calm under pressure with a professional and patient approach.
5. Good negotiation and problem-solving skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or data entry software.
7. A team player with a can-do attitude and persistence.
