About the role Our Finance team works with every element of our business, building strong relationships with both internal and external business partners. They focus on implementing best practice and provide meaningful management information which inform business strategy decisions. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a critical role in our effective finance practices through the processing of transactions relating to our customers, ensuring payments are received and recorded appropriately. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a very fast paced tech company which is private equity backed. Location: Hybrid working, with the expectation of regular attendance in the Derry office (minimum 2 days per week).
What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Proactively manage and collect outstanding accounts receivables to meet collection targets
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies or outstanding balances
  • Follow up with customers to ensure timely payment and address any issues or enquiries
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all accounts receivable activities
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and discrepancies
  • Manage the AR Reporting system efficiently including keeping notes up to date and coordinating automatic reminder campaigns
  • Generate regular reports on accounts receivable aging and provide updates to management on collection performance and any escalated issues
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve the accounts receivables collections process
  • Assist with customer onboarding forms and customer portal onboarding when required.

Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • A proven track record: You will have experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or a similar role where you have established strong knowledge of accounts receivable, credit and collection principles
  • Communications: You will have the confidence and skill to facilitate broad-ranging conversations with people across the business and with external customers (face to face, telephone and digital communications)
  • Adaptability: You will work with a high degree of accuracy and effectively plan to ensure that tasks are actioned and followed up to ensure completion
  • Building relationships: You will be able to build relationships with the wider Learning Pool team and work together to achieve the team and company goals
  • A focus on continuous improvement: You will look for opportunities to keep improving our processes and service to make sure that our offering remains the best in the market
  • Positive, solutions focused outlook: You will think "What can we do to make this happen?" rather than "I don\'t know how this would work"
  • Proficiency with business tools: You will be comfortable with using appropriate technology and systems, with a willingness to increase capability in the relevant systems that we use (e.g. Google suite, Excel, CRM tools).

Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have experience in the following areas:
  • Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce and Tesorio
