JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSONAL SPECIFICATION FOR THE ROLE OF ACCOUNTS SEMI-SENIOR



Job Title:

Accounts Semi Senior

Responsible to and reports to:

Both Directors

Staffing responsibilities:

No responsibilities - just supporting other staff when required

Main purpose of role:

Managing clients to support directors and clients

Main responsibilities and duties:



Bookkeeping/accounts



Manage own portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders, partnerships, LLP's and limited companies.

Inputting data from client manual records

Reconciling bank accounts

Liaising with client for bookkeeping queries

Preparing management accounts either monthly or quarterly for review

Preparing VAT returns for review

Preparing year end accounts for review and company/self-assessment tax returns

Client contact including emails and telephone conversations. Possibly some face-to-face meetings and/or regular visits

Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met.

Basic personal and business tax advisory work when required.

Reporting to directors for any client changes in business or complex queries

Payroll



Manage own portfolio of clients to process payroll of various pay frequencies

Submission of HMRC reports

Submission of Pension uploads- NEST and People's Pension

Dealing with HMRC enquiries

Dealing with client queries

CIS returns and queries

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION



Experience based qualification is accepted

Xero certification

AAT or similar

Work Experience



Worked in practice managing own portfolio of bookkeeping and payroll clients

Experienced in preparing accounts and VAT returns

Skills and knowledge



Sage and Xero accounting

Sage and Xero payroll

Iris software

Moneysoft/Payroll Manger

Hubdoc

Personal Attributes



Comfortable communicating with clients

Can work on own and as part of a team

Can drive and has own car

Salary and Benefits:



Salary Band: 30-35K depending on experience and qualifications

Pension: Auto-enrolment scheme

Bonus details: Ad hoc at directors' discretion

Holiday entitlement: 24 days increasing by 1 extra day per year after first full year of employment up to a maximum of 29 days. 3 or 4 days to be used at Christmas when office closed

Hours of Work: Flexi time or 4 day week options available

Additional Benefits: Parking permit to be provided for full use of employee with an employee contribution of 10/month
