A well-established regional practice is looking for an Accounts Senior to be part of its friendly General Practice team where workloads are varied and you'll be given responsibility from day one.
The role would suit someone who enjoys seeing assignments through from bookkeeping to final accounts, while also supporting clients with their day-to-day tax and compliance needs.
Role Responsibilities
Prepare year-end accounts for a broad range of clients, including incorporated and unincorporated businesses.
Produce corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
Handle bookkeeping tasks and prepare VAT returns.
Contribute to monthly or quarterly management accounts as required.
Use cloud and desktop accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and integrated practice software.
Liaise directly with clients to obtain records, resolve queries and provide guidance.
Support forecasting, projections and ad-hoc client reporting.
Assist managers and partners with general practice work, administration and occasional audit support depending on experience.
Maintain accurate working papers and follow internal processes to complete jobs to review stage.
Personal Requirements
AAT qualified, part-qualified or equivalent experience in practice.
Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment.
Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance.
Competent user of accounting software and Microsoft Office.
Well organised, detail-focused and able to manage deadlines.
Positive attitude, proactive approach and a willingness to continue developing professionally.
