The Role
This role involves managing accurate and timely financial records, overseeing expenses and budgets, and supporting daily accounting activities. The responsibilities include preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring compliance with UK regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with financial systems like Xero, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to support the company's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Responsible for the management of accurate and timely accounting records
Manage spend vs Budget for all operating costs
Responsibility for the day-to-day accounting activities including processing all transactions in Xero in accordance with tight deadlines
Reporting financial information to senior management
Monthly analysis across cost and revenue
Final sign off of monthly accounts
Processing and paying supplier invoices
Paying weekly adviser/ introducers commission and staff salaries
Assist budget holders to understand revenue vs budgets
Process staff expenses
Regular use of Excel for monitoring of financial data.
Reconciling key control accounts including all bank reconciliations
Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations
Prepare monthly analysis
What we are looking for
Xero experience is essential
Payroll experience is an advantage
AAT level 3 is preferable for this role, although equivalent experience would be considered
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
You will be prepared to learn and develop and assist wherever necessary.
A high level of organisational skills
You'll be proactive and able to work on your own initiative.
An extremely high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
You'll be IT proficient, with the ability to pick up new systems very quickly and already have a good knowledge of MS Office, Gmail and Excel.
