Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts/Administration Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the office in managing the day-to-day accounting and administration functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in business operations.

The Conroy Group in Butterwick operates several key divisions, including:

Conroys Plant Hire Ltd: Specialises in providing a wide range of machinery and equipment for hire, including suction excavators and other specialised equipment for construction and utility projects.

Suction Excavator Hire Ltd: Offers advanced suction excavation services, which are ideal for safe and efficient excavation in urban and suburban areas.

Special Pipeline Services Ltd: Provides specialised pipeline installation and maintenance services, including horizontal directional drilling, pipe bursting, and slip lining.

Vac-Con Ltd: Services focus on suction excavation, including manufacture and maintenance of vehicles. Their services are designed to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly excavation solutions.

These divisions work together to offer comprehensive solutions for the utilities and construction industries, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and timely. Maintain and update financial records and ledgers. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports. Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks. Provide administrative support to the office as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations. Respond to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Piloting our new management system.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



Proven experience

as an Accounts/Admin Assistant or in a similar role.

Proficiency in accounting software

Sage 50

Strong understanding

of basic accounting principles.

Excellent attention to detail

and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently

and as part of a team.

Strong communication

and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

, particularly Excel.

Analytical skills

to interpret financial data.

Problem-solving abilities

to address discrepancies and issues.

Time management skills

to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:



Professional certification (e.g., AAT, ACCA) is a plus. Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
