We are a mid-sized Coventry based firm of Accountants and Tax Advisors with a wide variety of clients. Established in 2004, we provide a specialist advice and compliance service to businesses and individuals in taxation, financial planning and associated products. We are seeking to extend the capacity of our Accounts & Audit team with the addition of an Accounts & Audit Senior, with a bias towards Audit. You will be required to provide high quality audit services to a wide range of clients, with the ability to undertake Accounting work when audit season is light.
With huge growth potential, this will be an excellent opportunity for the right person to truly make their mark. This role will suit someone coming from a 2 - 4 Partner or similar sized Practice. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for providing high quality client services and building strong professional relationships to become a trusted partner for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and undertake audit and independent examination assignment on a portfolio of clients.
Support the audit manager and RI on audit planning and fieldwork.
Prepare and maintain audit files and working papers.
Supervise junior team members during audits.
Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve audit queries.
Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and returns for limited companies and groups.
Assist in the production of management accounts and bookkeeping tasks.
Assist in other compliance matters such as VAT returns.
Complete ad hoc assignments to meet client needs.
Identify and recognise potential new business opportunities and inform management. Act as an ambassador of the firm and participate in office marketing events, keeping abreast of the services we offer.
Monitor chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery, meet or exceed budgets and targets where possible.
Maintain up to date technical knowledge and attend all relevant CPD training, conferences and seminars.
Use relevant support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries (inc software vendors).
Requirements:
ACA/ACCA qualified or almost, or qualified by experience.
Recent lead audit position, at least 2 years. Mixed position to include accounts would be advantageous.
Working knowledge of accounting software and standards
