Would you like to be a part of a team who strives for excellence; has clear development and progression pathways; offers flexible working arrangements; has opportunities for hybrid/remote working and are committed to supporting inclusivity and the wellbeing of our team members?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has a keen eye for detail to join our dynamic team of Clinical Coders at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust!

Whilst applicants holding the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) are preferred, trained Clinical Coders without the NCCQ may be considered for a Band 4 Clinical Coder position, with a view to attain their NCCQ.

Applicants should state clearly in their application the band/role for which they'd like to be considered.

Applicants with relevant coding experience would join us as a band 4 Clinical Coder, or band 5 Accredited Clinical Coder, depending on their knowledge and expertise. You will be supported by our team of experienced trainers and auditors to maintain personal development, building on your existing skills and learning new ones through our extensive training and quality assurance programmes.

The successful applicant will be responsible for extracting and translating complex medical data to timely and accurately assign clinical codes for all in-patient episodes. Therefore, you must possess an exceptional attention to detail, be capable of organising your own workload and be able to work under pressure to ensure strict monthly departmental and national deadlines are met. You will have a proven record of working in a team and contributing to the team's success and be able to effectively communicate with all relevant healthcare professions.

In return, staff can choose to work on-site, hybrid or fully remote and we offer flexible working patterns, including compressed hours, to support a healthy work/life balance. We have a structured progression pathway and focus on promoting from within the team to help you advance in your career.

So, if you are looking for a role that offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to thrive within a dynamic team, we'd love to hear from you!

Please note if you are successful at interview, you will be required to attend in person at one of our Trust sites as part of the Identity Check process.
