Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician / Act

Job Specification
Accuracy Checking Prescriptions (Must hold suitable certificate and be GPhC registered)
Will be some dispensing medications as prescribed in a busy and fast paced healthcare environment
Already trained as an ACT
Reviewing prescriptions to ensure accuracy and to evaluate their suitability for the patient
Providing information and advice about drugs, their side effects, correct dosage and proper storage
Providing other health advice, such as guidance on stopping smoking, vaccination etc
Keeping records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, and registries of poisons, narcotics or controlled drugs
Ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies
Maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly
Significant involvement in the running of the dispensary and pharmacy
Significant involvement in delivering patient services in the pharmacy consultation room (Blood pressure, vaccinations, stop smoking services etc)
Significant involvement with branch leadership and problem solving
Experience:
Min 12 months previous experience as a Tech / ACT
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solver
